Our Story

The Westbourne Grocer is an incredible retail space, where you'll find an eclectic array of beautiful produce from local growers and producers. We also have access to the freshest produce from the world famous, wholesale market on the outskirts of Paris (Rungis) and Milan Market in Italy.

 

Our ethos is to limit the packaging produce comes in, afford our customers all important choice and limit food waste. We follow the seasons closely and only buy produce when it's at its very best. We do not dictate to our customers what they should be buying and we provide choice like no other store locally. We have created an open environment where you can come and discuss produce, food memories and recipe idea's. We actively encourage you to taste, smell and feel your produce and we offer our expertise to inspire and advise our customers cooking and recipe ideas.

 

Ben Cartwright

With nearly 20 years in the wholesale industry, proud family man and passionate food lover Ben has enjoyed a long successful career working directly with growers, producers and market traders both here in the UK and in Europe to seek out the most fantastic and unique tasting produce to be served in top-end restaurants such as The Waterside Inn, Core by Claire Smith and Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons.

It has long been a desire of Bens to bring his incredible knowledge and passion for produce into a place where he can share the delights of the very best of what we find in the European markets and beyond with the wider public.

Adam Stocker

Adam is a born and bred local resident and accomplished Chef with experience in establishments such as Langan’s Brasserie and Claridges’, working with prominent leading chefs such as Jean-Christophe Novelli and John Williams throughout his career. Being an ingredient-led chef, Adam has a passion for well-sourced, incredible tasting ingredients.

Adam enjoys meeting his customers and using his expertise, knowledge and passion of the cooking world to advise and inspire on how to use our products in everyday eating and cooking.
